as i was listening to the playlist i posted yesterday, i couldn't help but think of all the extraordinary, hard working, and all around fabulous women that inspire me everyday. sooo from now on every friday i am going to write about a woman that i admire! i always find that reading about the crazy impressive accomplishments of fellow women gives me an extra boost in my day and gives me perspective about my goals and sense of direction. hopefully some of their incredible-ness will rub off on me...i can only hope to do things half as amazing as them!!
first off...JENNA LYONS
1// her business sense and massive creative talent have transformed j crew from a basic/preppy retailer into a global trendsetting and taste-making brand. I love this quote from her on being both the president and creative director at j crew: "What it says is that no financial decision weighs heavier than a creative decision. They are equal."
2// she is 1 of only 2 designers included on this years TIMES 100 Most Influential People List
3// she seems so relatable, and as someone who often is being overly honest, i appreciate that she is so accomplished, yet still doesn't take herself too seriously.
4// the shiny ponies video. i mean, just LOOK at that shoe collection. i die.

freaaaking out about the snow she managed to look cool and put together.
i don't know about you, but i think if i put on a denim jacket and an evening maxi skirt,
it wouldn't look quite like this.
